The Aburi Girls’ 80th Anniversary Distinguished Alumni Awards
“Eighty Years of Excellence, Leadership, and Sisterhood”
In celebration of our 80th Anniversary, the Aburi Girls Old Girls’ Association (AOGA) is proud to announce a historic recognition programme. We are seeking to honor 10 Distinguished Alumnae from each decade (from the 1940s to date) who have embodied the “Aburi Spirit” through exceptional life achievements.
We invite all alumni, faculty, and school stakeholders to nominate Beacons whose lives and careers have brought distinction to themselves and our alma mater.
THE FIVE PILLARS OF DISTINCTION
A nominee must have demonstrated uncommon merit in at least one of the following areas:
- Professional Excellence & Innovation: Leaders and pioneers in fields such as Medicine, Law, STEM, Business (to include Entrepreneurship or Artists) or the Arts.
- Statesmanship & Public Service: Outstanding achievement in governance, diplomacy, or national administration.
- Humanitarianism & Social Impact: Significant contributions to human welfare, philanthropy, or leadership in social causes.
- Academic & Creative Brilliance: Major breakthroughs in research, scholarly work, or cultural contributions.
- Institutional Legacy & Service: Sustained and transformative commitment to the growth of Aburi Girls’ or AOGA.
ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a graduate of Aburi Girls’ Secondary School/Senior High School.
- A written statement (maximum two pages) describing the nominee’s qualities, achievements, character and work, and how these reflect the award criteria.
- Supporting Documents: A CV or biography (maximum 3 pages) to provide additional context.
- The selection will ensure a balanced representation of our 80-year history.

Self-nominations and nominations from family members will not be considered. Please submit your nomination package (Narrative + optional CV) via the details below:
